Need some Tranny Advice
Well we hooked the scanner up and everything looked good to our knowlege. Target pressure and actual pressure were pretty close. Speed sensor was also reading. Temp was reading good also. I'm going to drop it off at a Tranny shop tomarrow.
Well the tranny shop checked it out. Pressure was fine, govenors were fine. Second gear was being commanded, but second gear was no where to be found. When I was letting off, it was going straight to third. Second gear is toast. So I'm in the market for a new tranny.
In my dealings with the 47re your scenario usually ends up being a kickdown band that is not working. I've probably had three this year with that "stays in first until you let off then goes to second" and have found the band so far out that the strut rod off the apply lever was laying on top of the valve body. Another was a new "reman" trans that simply had an installation error with one of the seals on the kickdown servo.
