need help plz cold start solutions
Plug the truck in for a few hours. If you are jelled up, I'd replace the fuel filter. In my experiance, fuel additive will not prevent jelling in real cold weather like you(we)are having. You should be running at least a 50/50 mix of #1 and #2. I can't believe you arn't getting that mix in Laramie, there wouldn't be a truck running if the fuel wasn't properly blended. When I lived in Big Piney WY, the fuel was blended 70/30 when the temps were down in the -30's.
The grids will help in starting in cold weather, so fix what ever is wrong. I have an '89 Cummins in my Ford that I wired a momentary toggle switch. I use it for about 15 seconds before starting in -30* and it will start right up. NOTE ON THE GRIDS, They will kill a weak battery. You will need good battery(S) for the grids to do their job and still have enough amps to spin the starter.
Synthetic oil will help, but I don't think you have to have it. I use 15-40 year round here in Evanston WY
