Need assistance pretty quick!

Ok. so i was told by a diesel tech who tested my tank that i have algae. my truck wouldnt start unless i sprayed it. if i changed the fuel filter and emptied the fuel out of the canister it would start. it also showed my lift pump wasnt what it should be so i just installed a FASS. it started and ran great for a day. then wouldnt start unless i gave it the can of incentive. i emptied the filters on the fass and it started fine a most of the day then wont start again. could algae be doing all this? it runs fine once its started. did it only start because the complete FASS system was clean? Help please

What he said. Algae is living, and unless you completely KILL it, you will never filter your way out of it.

You need to hit it hard with a good biocide, available from truck stops, many auto stores, Implement stores, etc.

I would have thought your mechanic would have advised you to use it....

Wouldn't hurt to drop the tank and clean, you still need to run the biocide. Wouldn't hurt to hit it a few times even after you have it under control to make sure the last of the little buggers are stone cold dead.
