My auto took a dump.....or so I thought?
A few weeks ago my trans slipped on me until my truck would not move, so I instantly thought oh-well it was bound to happen. I just took the trans out after it checked no pressure at idle.
The trans shop called me today and said that there was nothing wrong with my trans???*** I called DTT because they know auto's they think it is electrical and told me the only way to find out is to put it back in and troubleshoot it from there.
Has anybody else had this style trans problem and if so what was the final diagnosis??
I guess if nothing is wrong that is very good, but what a waste of a day pulling the trans out in 100* weather.
Thanks for you help

There really is not much to go on from what you posted. A dead transmission with no problems is not possible. You should have been able to pull codes from your truck when the problem took place. With the electronic controls you do not pull a transmission when it fails, you do the diagnostics with it in the truck. There is really no other option.
Even if you paid the additional grand to put your tranny on a dyno, hardly any of the shops even have the electronics on their transmission dynos to test to determine the problem if what you describe if it is an electrical problem with the PCM or one of the Dodge connections or sensors or switches. A comprehensive code scan of the truck should yield something that will lead you in the proper direction.
The problem could possibly be with the electronic regulators/solenoids in the valve body and related internal controls. This should be able to be tested by a decent transmission shop with the unit out, but it if they found no problem I would normally expect that to have been one of their tests.
Lastly, a ballooned converter will do what you describe, and no one routinely checks those as they are nearly always simply replaced with a high quality aftermarket unit. The OEM converters are not even worth installing when new!

I've got a really dumb comment/question, I'm sure you checked but:
Low trans fluid can cause such a condition. You checked the trans fluid level with the engine running and in neutral right?
..sorry that's all I got
