LSD problem
LSD problem
I just replaced my rear axle fluid about 200 miles ago. First time in 37,000 miles. I didn't add any LSD fluid. I filled it to about a 1/4" below the fill hole. For some reason now, it's acting up. It doesn't chatter or anything, but it takes a lot longer for the other tire to kick in and start spinning. I can go around a turn and you'll hear one tire start spinning. Especially if the ground is slightly damp. Should I take the truck to Dodge and see if they won't fix it for me under warranty? Why is it doing this now? I've never had a problem with it until now. I didn't use synthetic. I used Pennzoil 80w-90 (I know it's 80W something). Should I change fluid to something thicker or something? The old fluid was extremely black and thin. Thanks for the help yall.

Re:LSD problem
I seriously doubt there is anything that needs to be "repaired", you simply have a little too much "grab" in the LSD that quickly goes from "slip" to "grip" - add a bottle of the friction modifier from Ford or Dodge - they're both supposed to be the same stuff (both used the Dana differentials) - but it's usually cheaper at a Ford dealer...
