Looking for a rebuild shop near Chicago - VP44

So I yanked my VP44 yesterday. I would like to find a shop that can rebuild it in the Chicago suburban area. I would also like to stay under the $1000.00 mark. If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. In my previous post RCW had suggested a Bosch authorized rebuilder, but I am not familiar with the diesel shops aroung here, so I could use some help. I would like to send it out tomorrow if I can find a place.

Thanks,

Craig

I just need a reputable place to have it rebuilt. Somewhere that I know they will replace what needs to be replaced, but not charge me $1500 to do it.

I did check with MWFI and they wanted $1100.00 for the exchange, they said it would be about the same for a rebuild. I would like to spend a bit less than that if possible. I just replaced the LP and rebuilt the tranny. It's been a painful couple of weeks.

Thanks guys!

I think 1000-1200 is the going rate for a rebuild on your pump. I thought there were only something like 10 pump stands in the country that work with the VP???

my guy here says that is it that the test bench is too expensive, so it gets sent to bosh-not worth the money to get the bench.

Check some of these guys, and do a bit of shopping for price quotes. If you take the time to call, generally either Jannetty or Piers will have something discounted. Also, call Lorin Wentland and see what he has available.
