Leveling Kit, Shocks too short!!!!!!!

ALright I just put on a leveling kit on my 96 2500 4x4. Problem was when I had the suspension fully drooped and tried to install the shocks they were too short. Now I have read that the original shocks will still work but won't it hurt them to be a little short? I guess as long as I don't go rockcrawling it will be ok until I get longer ones right?

Ya. The stock shocks are a little short but they will work for a little while. Chances are, they are already worn out anyways so you might as well replace them as soon as you can.

Ive put together more 4x4s than I can remember and I can tell you on lots of them the shock is what limits wheel drop. The spring will by far out strech the shock travel on many. In the old days we would run limiting straps to prevent self destruction to them.

I've been running the stock length Munroe heavy duty's on my truck with d25's for a year and a half (30,000 miles) and they're still going, I've been waiting for them to die before I replace them since I had just bought them a couple months before I decided to go with D25's.

I know they've been topped out lots too since I drive on real rough roads and off road a lot

must be tough shocks
