Idles to high

I've just converted from GM6.5TD's to the cummins!! I just bought my 1997 Dodge 3500 Dually 183K, basically stock with a HX35 turbo, and a 47RE auto trans. The idle seemed a little high, but the truck ran awesome. Preventively I took it to a friend who owns a Mopar tranny shop and he suggested replacing the govenor solenoid switch and transducer, so I did. When I got it back yesterday, the idle was even higher...750-800 in gear, 950 in park or nuetral. I looked at the accelerator cable to pump linkage and everything looks great, no binding. I see where the cable end pulls on and rotates on the shaft on the side of the injection pump, but the idle adjustment is not straight forward. I was expecting to see an idle adjustment that I could move, but I can't seem to find it, need help, Thanks

There's a 10mm bolt with a lock nut on the back of the injection pump that a lever hits if you screw it in it will lower the idle. If the idle at 750-800 that about right it should be.

Remember, you're setting the idle in gear with the A/C on.

That's because the computer controls the idle speed on your truck. It's not adjustable.
