I need help in Kokomo, IN

I am in Kokomo, IN truck wont start cummins tech line doesnt seem to be helping at all. I need someone who knows all their stuff. I was having problems with what seemed to be fuel devliery was defueling or stalling at like 40mph. So I started with the small stuff Fuel filter changed it now the truck wont start. I cracked #1 and 3 injectors no fuel mist just leaking fuel so it does not look like I have pressure at injectors. I tried bleeding air out of the fuel system did not seem to work either. So I am lost as to whats wrong Lift pump is working Vp-44 seems to be working so whats gives. If anybody close could come take a look or knows how to help let me know please. I would even be willing to pay you to get this fixed. I need my truck. thanks so much for everyones help so far. Ben

The "defueling" sounds like dead pedal. Can you get your hands on a scanner? I'd check for codes before going any further. Got a fuel pressure gauge? If not, get one! A temporary gauge is fine, but get something to check pressure. Bump your engine to run the LP and see what you get.

If it's the VP, you may have caused the problem by changing the filter. Sometimes a bad VP will continue running until you introduce air into the line. Once the air is introduced, the VP doesn't have the ability to continue pumping fuel.

Check the codes and post what you find, I'm sure someone can get you back on the road.

Sounds Like We Have The Same Problem My Truck Started Acting Up And I Changed The Filter And Ended Up With The Same Results The Next Day. I Rechecked The O-ring And Fuel Filter Everything Looked Good Went To Restart On A Slight Upward Incline And Had Problems. Today It Had Been Running Fine Since Saturday And I Park It On An Incline Going Upward And It Started Over Again I Made It To A Point Where The Truck Was Pointed Downhill And Tried 3-5 Bump Crancks And It Started Right Up. Still Looking For The Problem If You Find Out Please Let Me Know. Thanks

hey now, take it easy on the 24 valvers!!
The truck's fuel system is electronic, so you need to get the codes read from the PCM. unless you think you can replace a VP (many writeups on the net if you're on the bubble) you are most likely going to have to take it to someone to be fixed. Just my $.02

Without a fuel poressure guage you are driving blind. My guess is the VP-44 is toast.
