Hit a pot hole pretty hard and truck died
A guy I work with just called me and said his grandpa hit a pothole on his 2000 CTD and the engine just died like you turned off the key. The only code that he is getting is the P1693 code and thats it. Anybody have this problem before? Anybody got any idea's? The truck will NOT restart, he cracked open an injector line and he is getting no fuel.
I do not know if they stopped , but dodge has had since the beginning of computers has had an auto shut down relay , turn power off to computer fuel pump ect gas & diesel .
That said , I would lean towards a fuse , fusible link , battery connections .
Does the starter engage , I would guess so , since you said no fuel , but the no fuel should give you a place to start looking , electrical getting to pump ?

Ok, after more checking, he said he is actually getting fuel to 45&6 but not 12&3, however, it is interesting that he has no codes on the ECM, I wonder if he has lost power to the ECM somehow......? Anybody know how the ECM gets its power?
A guy called me once. He was tring to teach his girl how to drive a stick. She dumped the clutch in 3rd and it bucked real big and died. I told him how to check for codes and all he got was the 1693 also. I took my smarty over there and got a 1688, SSOOO, I got him a new VP44, and put it on and he blamed it all on his poor little girl.
