i just got trans rebuilt a couple weeks ago with the help of a member.

i got a DTT TC and suncoast VB from a buddy, bought my rebuild kit and other accessorizes from HTS. billet input from OPIE.

the instructions i got from marianne(HTS) say to put a 1/4 watt resistor on the red wire in the VB. i did that. still had 2nd and 3rd gear starts when warm.

so today i install another 1/4watt resistor on the orange wire(pin 31) on the middle connector (the white one). this didnt help either.

my buddy that gave me the VB said i should have put that resistor in the vb, since he never had to.

would this make a difference?

any other ideas? did i put the resistor on the wrong wire?

also how bad is it taking off in 2nd and 3rd gear with heavy throttle?

mine sometimes goes into a limp mode .

i simply hook up my odb2 code reader and erase the codes then the trany shifts like new agin .

give it a try ,also post the codes .

p0743 i think is the one that causes my problem .

 

1762 was the code i pulled. gov. pressure too high or too low.

did you try it after erasing the code ?

can you try it with just the 1 resistor in the vb red wire after erasing code ?

if your budy never had to install resistor why do you ?

my decoder sayes voltage to low or too high making me think resistor is lowering voltage too much ?

i used a 200 ohm 1/4 watt resistor , what ohm is your resistor ?

 

yeah i tried it after erasing the code and once it gets warm it goes into limp mode, sometimes.

i went off someone else's instructions about the resistors.

not sure on the ohm, it was higher than 200 though.

i called suncoast yesterday, they said to pull both resistors and go from there. i pulled both of them yesterday and havent drove the truck yet.

Got it.

i used 630ohms worth of resistors to get my voltage to 4.5. no more 3rd gear starts

cost about $2 worth of resistors. 3 -100ohm's and 1-330ohm. with just the 3-100's it was at like 4.8, then i added the 330 it dropped to 4.5v.
