help tapping noise 2000 dodge.

i need some help here guys i have a 2000 dodge 3500 2x4 with the 24 valve motor i bought it it had 145,000 miles on it i started pulling a 2 car hauler with it at 158,000 she developed a tapp in the motor sounds like a lifter tap or valve tap you can only here it when i rev the motor at the top and coming down off the rev. now i have installed a fass system just the pump i believe it was the 95 but i did that when i first purchased the truck and had no problem i have changed the oil used the mopar filter which i believe is made by fleetgaurd also fuel filter by fleetgaurd. i thought the valve lash might need adjusting the manual says 150,000 so i found the procedure on here but i did not do it i took it to a local diesel shop they did the job for 150 still has the tap, he said it might be a injector so i took it to dodge for them to check it out they recommended a valve adjustment and check the injectors i told them i had a valve adjustment already but do what you have to but i wanted the noise to go away so they did a valve adjustement again and supposedly checked the injectors i ask them if they did a leak down test and they said they did, and they called me and said the valves were too tight and the problem was all fixed well i paid them 300 for the job and still the tapp is there i bought it back and they said they dont know what that tap is and supposedly there diesel mech said that was normal i said why didnt you say that before you did the 300 dollars worth of work they are such crooks but i arguied with the guy and said that is not normal it wasnt doing it before, so here i am with 450 dollars invested in this noise that nobody knows what it is. what do you guys think any good diesel mechanics in nj?

I've noticed a tapping noise once my revs get up there too. It happened after I installed my boost gauge so I'm assuming the noise is traveling through the boost hose to the gauge. Do you have gauges? FP is the most important, especially on these trucks!!!

Leave the hood open at night. Maybe the tap dancer will get cold and go somewhere else.

The knocks, shakes, beats, clangs, and or taps are much more prevalant on diesels. Look at other posts and see efforts to ease pain.
Once you hear a noise and focus on it, you will notice it more. Then the more you worry, the worse it gets. It is a vicious cycle. And then yours is always worse than your buddies.
Take the dealer advice of nothing really wrong and leave er bee.

You can try to put about 125cc of TCW3 2-stroke oil into your diesel and listen if it goes away.

Just my 2c
