2003 sw/sb/auto.Can drive for about 5 minutes then check guage light comes on and volt meter is dead. Then shut off for 1 minutes and is charging again little under 14. Just started today after battery died going on trip this weekend need help thanks. Shawn

 

Check all connections make sure that there are no loose connectors or ground wires. Then I would suggest checking over the wire harness between the engine and the fire wall, check for possible grounding. In all likelyhood it sounds like you will need either a new Alternator or Battery.

 

Well cleaned connection going to alternator has not happen since hope i got lucky. 3rd Cummins none of the others left me down. just 1st 3rd gen. thanks for the in put.
