take it into the dealer and let them flush out the fuel system or any other place that can do that. shouldnt be a huge deal as long as he doesnt keep driving it

Don't drive it! even a little gas robs the lubricating ability of the oil and major damage can occur. Drain it all out no way around it.

Thanks for the info I passed it on to him. He drove it home 29 miles without a problem but I told him he should get it drained.

I agree with rustydeertech about adding some oil and running it, but use TCW-3 2 cycle oil. Don't use motor oil.

I assume that is 100 dollars of diesel to 5 gallons of gas, Probably about 27 gallons of diesel. I agree, add some lubricity and drive it. That's a lot of fuel to waste. My sister in law did that once and it was no problem.

I'd just drive it. I usually dump all my left over leaf blower/weed trimmer fuel into the tank at the end of every season. Granted it's usually only a gallon or two max, but in that small of an amount it shouldn't cause any issues, just add the 2 cycle oil as mentioned to add lubrication.

Bosch says as long as it's less than 5% gasoline no problem but on a 35 gallon tank that's only a couple of gallons.

Beware taking it to the dealer for a flush, they will charge you more than $10/gallon for hazardous waste disposal.

If the engine barely runs because of a high percentage of gas it does less damage because most people stop driving.
It's when the percentage gas is low enough that the engine runs just ok that that problems occur because most people continue to drive.

I agree completely with the 2 cycle oil. I would also suggest removing ten or fifteen gallons of the fuel from the tank and fill up with fresh diesel. That would seriously reduce the percentage of gas. Top it off when it gets down to 3/4 tank a couple of times just to keep it happy, and later use the remaining fuel a gallon per tank, again with some 2-cycle.

I am cheap so I would hate to have to pay to have it drained and pay for disposal. However I also dont want to pay the big bucks for damage or extra wear from a bad mix.
For myself, I would get it drained.

I agree. Put in some 2-stroke oil and let her go.

Heck with haz mat disposal. I would take it and burn it in my waste oil heater!! That is IF I didn't just drive it out.
