Help! Dropped filler hose in trans (6 speed)
Help! Dropped filler hose in trans (6 speed)
When I was filling my manual trans. 6 speed.
I used a small plastic extension and it dropped off into the
tranny case.
I have removed the PTO cover and have tried fishing out
the little hose from the filler hole with no luck.
I am going to try access from the PTO but the gears are
in the way.. any other ideas?????

Is the drain directly under the fill on the six speed? If so, pull the drain, the fluid draining may force it close to the drain, or get it close enuff to reack with a coat hanger. Maybe you can reach in and grab it with some long forceps. Most bait shops, especially fly shops, carry forceps to remove fish hooks. Good luck.

SUCCESS!!!! My wife actually got it out with her small hands and fingers! We used all sorts of wire tools. The drain hole
sits up high and about 6 inches to the right of the PTO, so
that was impossible to grab the tube and pull it up, so she
was able to somehow get the tube over to the PTO opening
and it by chance lodged itself under the gears and she was
able to grab it with some long needle nose pliers! We didn't have a lot of room to work since the car was jacked up on blocks, but I am VERY relieved! She has never been under
a car, let alone a Dodge Ram Diesel! I'm proud! Thanks for the help!

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

Senór Blue, you owe your wife big time. A night on the town for sure, and maybe even more.
