Exclamation Help! Can't disconnect fuel tank module.

I ran out of fuel and added some from a gas can I think was full of trash. Replaced the fuel filter (old one had lots of floaters) but it would not start. Only bubbles coming from the bleeder screw. I figured I would drop the tank and clean the screen/tank and add the new float I have, but I cannot get the hoses or electrical connector off. My Haynes manual is not real helpful on the connections. I figure I am just not understanding how they fit on the module. Anyone have experience removing the tank? I'm down to one vehicle (the Chevy ) and need my truck!

hi
on my 98 [ used needel nose plyers and removed the red plastick lock from the wire connector then there is a tab on top that you press to release the wire clip ! i did not reinstall the red clip on mine ?

also just squeeze the 2 sides ov the hose connections , small clip handels , and minor wigle and they should come off !

dryed dirt build up may make the clips hard to release so some soaking with wd40 to soften the dirt may make it easier to release them

Just did this on my 05, After puilling the red clip o still ha dto hit the electrical connection with a small deadblow and large screwdriver to remove it.

The hose clamps were just squeezed with needlenose and worked off

Maybe its the same for your truck.
