Fuel Tank disconnect & removal

Can anyone out there tell me how to disconnect the fuel lines at the tank and the type of electric connector for the level sensor (so that I don't break it trying to disconnect it) so that I can drop the tank? The lines and wires are too short to lower the tank first. Replacing the level sending unit in the tank.

When I did that, I pulled the bed off instead of dropping the fuel tank. It was easier.

If you have something to lift the bed its a 1 man job.

If not, you'll need a buddy with a strong back to help lift the bed off of the frame.

Ya I lifted my bed off. Much easier, the connectors for the fuel can be a pain if you can see them. The wiring connector has a read cross pin you remove then in just unclips/.

I dropped my tank by loosening the straps just a bit and supporting it with a floor jack and 2x12. That way I could easily get to the PITA connectors and unclip them.....good luck, beer helps.

You guys are lucky the bed bolts come out!! Up here half of them break off, makes dropping the tank way easier!!! As said before you can drop it a little on a jack to get at the lines and undo them
