Help with 48RE problem

I am currently over 1000 miles from home and the tranny is acting up. It seems when it goes to shift into 3rd that it "misses" the shift. The rpm's go over redline ( about 3600) and the truck slows right down???? This only happens when accelerating hard, past 3/4 throttle or so... like when trying to merge onto the freeway with a 7K trailer behind me. I had Smarty on #7, went to stock, same thing so not the problem it seems. Tranny fluid is full and does not smell burnt? Any ideas on *** it going on? Valve body perhaps? I sure don't know. Does it unloaded as well.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mine was doing that a few months ago ...I called a Dodge Tech and told them what it was doing ....they said "Don't mash the gas so hard" and it stopped on its own

PS ...I didn't ease up on the throttle

That would be nice if it happened. I am going to go and change the tranny fluid and have a peek in the pan, and go from there. The people who supplied my tq and vb had no real interest in helping me or giving me any advice right now However the people from DTT spent a 1/2 hour on the phone with me despite the fact I am not their customer .... yet anyway. That was very cool of them and I am having a peek in the pan at their advice.

Well for anyone who may care ...got her going again. I had the pan dropped today ... and no metal, fiber, or burnt smelling fluid. However ... the "kickdown cable" had somehow broken Apparantly this caused all my grief as I was on the road and shifting full throttle at 3200 rpm all the way in less than 2 hours. Cost me less than $200 to boot. One happy kid here. I was ready to trade it in on a new truck as I don't have time for **** that does not work. Time is $$$ and I am way more short on time than $.....but always happy to keep the cash in the pocket of course. Now if only she would not defuel on EGT's all the time.... guess that will get fixed when I break the turbo
