Hard starting

I just replaced my VP-44 and APPS. The truck still has to turn over alot before it fires up? I have good fuel pressure at guage but slow starting. Air leak somewhere between fuel filter and VP? When I was bleeding the fuel line I cracked just injector #1. Any help or ideas would be appreciated.

When did you replace the VP? Minutes ago or miles ago? When my VP was replaced I had slow FP readings for about the first 30 seconds but never a hard start. Could be air in the lines if you just replaced it, not many miles. Otherwise I'd start looking at the return lines from the VP. They don't leak but will allow air into the system and cause a hard start.

Good luck.

Check around the fuel heater, on top of the fuel filter assy, for any seepage. The oring around the heater gets bad and will allow just enough air in over night to cause hard/no start.

Make sure your starter system is good to go. I had the same problem and it was the starter.
