Grinding noise and a bad vibration

IM not sure if this goes here but i need to figure out this problem by noon tomorrow. The problem is on my 98 when turning it fells like something is grinding( kind of feels like a goose neck in a bind. Or in 4wd without a limited slip) its only when turning the slower you go the worse it seems to be. It is also there in neutral but not nearly as bad as in drive. and i can still feel a little bit with the t case in neutral. Don't know about backing up haven't tried it yet. I posted this in the 2nd gen drive train and some people said try the friction modifier well it was starting to get pretty bad so today i added it...if anything it made it worse. Im leaving tomorrow at 4:00 i get off at noon so i have till noon to figure out the problem and till 4:00 to fix it after that were heading out for a trip and going about 700 milesround trip. If its something fixable id like to before it can cause more damage.

The diff did look a little low when i added the modifier. I may go to the parts store after work and add some just for the sake of it being full. Anyone know what type of fluid i need for it? Im also going to check the T-case tomorrow to see if its low. I dont think its the trans because i would think it would be doing it all the time not just when i turn.

Check front bearing/u joint. From what you describe it will not be a simple fix.

Also check your brakes. Pads could be worn down to the rotors. Also, I agree with West Coast about the u-joints.
