Exclamation Governor pressure voltage high??????what is this??????

I am throwing a govn. pressure voltage high code. Is the governor pressure solenoid and governor pressure/temp sensor common parts that fail???? where should I start with this one??? I already know the tps seems fine. With a DRBII scan tool hooked to it, its showing me a flawless 0-100% operation. I dont know what else to look at tho???? It shift like crap, sumtimes smooth other time rediculously hard. It hunts for gears and delays shifts. It drives fine at half throttle or less but the **** thing just seems to let go sumtimes over 1/2 throttle. I have a trans temp guage and it NEVER runs hot. The fluid was just recently flushed and I replaced the filter. It is a 1997 47RE. It drives like hell....

I don't know much about tranny's but I do know they yes, they fail. Fairly common. When I had my tranny replaced the guy who did it (Dusty at HTS) showed me the location of the sensor and what they look like.

Contact Mcmopar here on this site. He will tell you the location and where to get the part. You have to drop the pan, and while your in there, it's a good idea to replace another part (can't remember name), but I'm thinking speed sensor? I believe about 80 to 100 bucks for both, and not very hard to do. Hang in there, it' a pretty easy fix. Maybe the answers will come up if you search governor sensor, sorry I would search for ya, but short on time this morning. KD

If you've set the gov psi sensor I wouldn't be too leary of replacing that and the solenoid. They do go bad here and there and often will not even set codes. Also, as long as you have the scan tool handy, make sure your tps voltage is .9-1 volt at idle. If it's not you can "adjust" it.

Had mine go at around 55k, no shifting at all. Easy replacement. Look for a tranny shop to sell you the parts (much cheaper than dealer). Drop pan, a few bolts and viola, you're done, and while you're in there do a band adjust, and if everything else is good inside, she'll feel like brand new when done.
