I have a 1997 1 ton 4x4 with the 12v cummins, I went to drive it and noticed the cruise control and 4wd wouldn't work, after getting out the factory shop manual and trying to trace it down, I noticed that there are 4 fusable links off the drivers side batt. 2 large and two small, one of the small ones is burned in half. This fusable link is not shown in the manual and is a factory wire for sure, I think the wire spliced to the fusable link is black with a red stipe. does anyone have any idea what is causing this ? A strike test arked like a dead short.
