Fuel tank coming off...new fuel pump opinions

Opinions wanted please. ..

My truck (100,000 miles) is at the shop for severe brake fluid bleeding :'(...driver side between the fuel tank and the frame somewhere. Point is the fuel tank will be dropped tomorrow. Should I replace a good fuel pump for the price of parts only (no extra labor involved).

Also if you do reccomend the preventive replacement...what brand / type pump should I stay away from or gravitate towards?

Re:Fuel tank coming off...new fuel pump opinions

Your fuel pump is not in the tank, so that procedure doesn't do you much good. If you were switching out the fuel lines it would be handy, but they aren't too bad to get to with the tank in.
Your fuel pump is located near the front of the engine on that 12v. I don't know too much about the 12v, but I understand that the fuel pumps on those are pretty reliable. You can still go with an electric fuel pump if you want. This would be most applicable if you are heavily bombed though. It would be mounted on the frame or in the engine compartment.
Come on up to the Claremont, Va. rally this weekend and we'll talk more about it. ;D

Chris
