can someone tell me what the symptoms of a fuel pump going out is? Mine seems to be slightly stalling during accelleration especially in 3rd and 4th gear. also seems to "slow up" momentarily while cruising at 70 mph.
perhaps someone knows another prob causing this?
how would i check to make sure?
if this is the case i am interested in a performance pump.....any suggestions?

two choices. 1-get a fuel pressure guage on it. 2- run the volumn test. with all the failures out there on lift pumps is makes good sense to be able to monitor the system. that way you will be able to basicly trouble shoot it when symptoms arise.

when did you replace the filter last?

how many miles on the truck??

 

My symptoms when my pump died = None. Truck ran great, drove fine, no smoking. The only reason I knew my pump was shot was when I hooked up my new FP guage. It read 0 to -1 while truck running. Installed new pump 13-14 psi idle, 12-13 psi WOT.
