Over 10 would be nice, but if it doesn't drop below 3-4 at WOT I wouldn't be too concerned.

....please fill out your signature so we know what truck you're talking about! Year / drivetrain / mods / gauges, etc......

I believe the consensus is that running 14-17 psi at idle, and never dropping below 8-9 at WOT define the "standard" boundaries where we like to run; Two posters to this thread seem to indicate that a lower pressure is acceptable - I certainly will not dispute that, every truck will react a bit differently (they could be operating under a higher flow rate with lower pressure - Big Line guys, ya know), but I believe the Bosch recommendation is 7 psi minimum. Your pressure is out of this envelope, if you're running the VP44 set up, I would get after a fix ASAP, the IP's are expen$ive! One thing to check first, though - is your gauge reading correctly?

Qwk seems to be having good luck at a lower pressure: Qwk - have you done a flow rate test to see if you're still flowing enough fuel to cool the IP? Just curious, as I've seen several debates on this site about pressure v. flow rate.....

The shop that did my flow rate claim it is good. I usually only run it on 3 at the most right now. I am wanting to get the glacier kit when I have the money. I have heard the same numbers you posted on here over and over again. I just want to be safe so the truck runs for a long time trouble free.

I run11-12 at idle. about 8 at cruse and 6 at WOT. Flow test just done about a weekago at dealer, they run it when the change fhe fuel filter, It had a flow that was like a new LP filled the beaker.

For now 2000, 2500 quad cab, 4" exhaust,Issopro fp guage. I contacted several people including the dodge dealer, cummins repair center. On this truck the dealer no longer sells this crap lift pump. they will sell you a in-tank pump and kit for $370.00. For the same money I bought a Fass fuel pump from ( Thoroughbreddiesel.com ). The guys at cummins said not to drop it below 5 psi. for too long or I would kill my injector pump. They give me alot of other info which I will share if asked. thanks for all the replies!!!
