Fuel Pressure

I just installed a fuel pressure gage and my pressure seems to be running low. At idle runs 10 psi at 60 runs 8-10 psi. If i get on the throttle it goes to 2-4 psi until i back off for a short time. Is this a indication the transfer pump is going bad? Need info asap as I am going on a trip in about 2 weeks. Also can you suggest a good transfer pump that will not break the bank.

Thanks
SAMAF
