Here it is.

Make sure you don't over tighten the cap when you put it back togther, it'll squeeze out the O Ring.

Dead easy job. Its important to fill the fuel filter canister with fresh, clean diesel, before you put the top back on and bump the starter (engage the starter so that the truck doesnt start, but the lift pump runs for about 20 seconds). Here is where you find out if your lift pump is working or not.

Theres some really good istructions here:

How do you take the filter off? There is a hex nut on top & A 1/2 square drive inside of it. Or do you loosen it from the bottom? I have changed diesel fuel filters on my tractors & dozer so I know to bleed them before starting. The filter I have you cannot pre-fill. Hole in top & bottom

Thanks

Do NOt use a ratchet or anything else in the 1/2 hole....it will crack the top. 1 1/8" socket

I guess you have one of the older fuel filter housings.

Can't remember if the 2000 has the schrader valve up by the VP? If it does like my 01, I'll push in the valve while the pump is running when you "bump" the starter. It will hiss and spit until you finally get good fuel flow. When it does get flow it will start right up no prob.
