Yes... i know... A FERD, but it has a 5.9 cummins ISBE, so i guess its not that bad of a sin. Anyway. I have this 2005 f-650 flatbed, it was fine one day then all the sudden, its starts puffing a light black smoke at idle, it is not very thick, but it is visible. What should i do??? By the way, when it gets really cold out. the truck does not start as nice as it had in the past, any help would be greatly appreciated.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
As much as it pains me to even make suggestion on something Found On Roadside Dying, I'll try. You said puffing light smoke. That sounds like a bad injector. Does it also have a pronuced diesel knock now or is it sort or missing. If missing or knocking, gentlly loosen each injector connector at cyl head while running. When the knock goes away or doesn't get worse on a particular cylinder you have found questionable injector or cylinder. Groan:::
