Error code causing problem?
...where do i start...
we took the triple dog off an '07 and was going to put it on mine, an '03. as soon as we plugged it in, it gave a message saying something about a recovery mode with what looked like a vin number - which definately was not mine. after unplugging it and plugging it back in getting the same message, someone [i'm not gonna point fingers] pushed the Y and off it went ....saying it was erasing the triple dog (which definately wasn't on there) and then possibly going through the recovery? anyway, needless to say it popped up with an error and now nothing works. you turn the key, the fass doesn't load, i'm showing an empty tank of fuel, the truck guages are all not working, etc. we tried starting it for poops and giggles, but all it does is turn but not crank. [needless to say i was sick]
we then proceeded to unplug both batteries for a good 30 mins and then take the pos and neg cables on driver side and held together for a good 30 secs and then tried again, but still nothing.
did i just throw an error code in the system which is causing all the problems? something I can clear by hooking up a computer, figuring out what it is, and hopefully go from there?
have already tried cycling to get an error code to show, but nothing shows...plug the triple dog back up and nothing happens, but it's now back on the '07 and working....tried pluggin in the superchips to see what it would say and says it couldn't find a system..... sheesh, i'm sick

First, I don't think a programmer designed for an 07 will work for your truck, but I don't know much about bullydog stuff. I wouldn't suggest touching the pos and neg cables of the batteries together I did that on both batteries and the passenger side one blew up
. The best thing I can think of is to find someone with a smarty and try to load the stock software. Sounds like a pinch you are in, pm me if I can help anymore. Jay

what it did was change your vin if i'm reading what you wrote it probably changeed the letter in the second spot. if you can get the fass to work it should start. your going to have to take it to the dealer for a reflash for the correct vin. the bullydog should have redownloaded from the first truck agian before you did what you did. it should work from the 07 to 03. had it happen to one of my trucks when i did the try before you buy. only had the stock lp and it ran so you might have to hard wire the fass pump in order to get it to run not sure on that part tho dont know how they work
An error code won't cause anything. It's just like a light coming on telling you something is wrong, like a temp light. It works the other way around. The problem you created is causing the error code.
It doesn't matter what year of truck it was on. My triple dog has been on 3 different duramaxes and 3 different cummins, all different years. Did you have any problems unloading it from the 07? You cant just set it on stock power. It has to be "returned" to stock programming. The tire size and speed limiter also need to be returned to stock. If you call Bullydog they might be able to give you a recovery code to try. It's worked for me in the past, However the most recent time I had to send them my pcm for a reflash. I don't mean to scare ya, but it's a worse case scenario. Buddy Kunz is Bullydogs cummins guy, and he did everything in his power to get me on the road asap.
Good Luck.keep us posted.
