Engine stalled and won't restart

I was driving home last night around 40mph. I pushed down on the pedal and the truck started to accelerate and then just died like a switch was turned off. The engine cranks fine but doesn't even try to restart. It is a 95 12 valve cummins. I can't see any obvious problems. Any ideas of things to check would be helpful.

Check all the fuel related things...

Is the fuel shutoff solenoid pull up the fuel shut off lever (I'm guessing something in this system... the relay can go bad)? Did a fuel hose break? etc.

check your fuel filter, if it hasn't been changed recently It can restrict the flow. Change the filter, clean the container, bleed the fuel lines prime the pump until you see fuel comming out of the fuel filter canister, try to turn over, close off the bleeders on the fuel lines and go from there

ScottN was correct. The problem is related to the fuel solenoid. With the key on I can lift the solenoid by hand and it will stay engaged. I replaced the solenoid but the problem remained. I then replace the relays. Now the solenoid won't even stay up when manually moved. I did a voltage check and things seem appropriate. It is like there isn't enough amperage there to operate the solenoid. I have checked and cleaned the connections at the relays etc. I don't know what else to do at this point. It is going to get old real fast lifting the hood every time to shut it down.

Thanks,

Steve

Check the blue wire coming from the drivers side battery +, that's the power supply for the FSS.

Just as Corey said, it is most likely the blue fusable link coming off of the driver side battery. I'd put money down that this is your problem. Good Luck!

Can I have your old solenoid to experiment with?
Guarantee there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

My 89 12v has the same problem, checked the lift pump, did the filter, removed the fuel shut off soeloniod plunger and still nothing, I will try the blue wire and see what happens, is there a way to override that switch?
Also is it possible for the injection pump to just quit all of a sudden?

There are 3 wires on the solenoid, black is ground and theres a white and red (seems like). One is hot with the key on the other goes hot with the start signal, theres a relay for it on the firewall drivers side of center I think. To troubleshoot you need a meter or test light.
