Engine quit. Code 0628

Engine quit on the freeway. For a few seconds it just got weaker but then it shut off and I coasted to a stop. After cranking it a few times, for about two seconds each time, it started and ran fine for about a mile. Same thing with the cranking and it re-started again. I was able to coax it home with several more re-starts.

It was raining very hard and there were lots of puddles.

I turned the key off and on several times to get a code of P0628. Fuel Pump "A" Control Circuit Low. I don't know what that means. Voltage, pressure, or what?

Thanks for any help.

Not knowing '04 codes and the fact that it was wet out my bet is one of the pump connectors is shorting out on water. Nothing a little compressed air and di-electric grease won't fix.

Those are both good guesses and they match my guess exactly. But simply looking for wet wires in the rain is not much help. I can't fix a wet connection till I have an idea where it might be or even if it is a wet connection. What I need is someone familiar with the '04 codes that can define the term "Fuel Pump A Control Circuit Low".

Thanks, Wetspirit
