engine missing and little white smoke, took tst box off and went to knocking?

well I put the box back on and it still knocks, but has great oil pressure. Well back to the drawing board!

put a jack under the oil pan and jacked it up tight and put new filter on and fresh oil, then put box back on , fired it up and still knocked . Learning that they have also left my motor mount nuts off . Now I have to tell them to get my motor mount nuts, and ask them what else is missing , Lol (are the pistons still their?) lol. Any way I could not wait for bolts so I improvised and used a jack to keep the oil pan snug. Oh yea i can see where they tore the oil pan gasket so I am going to have to get another one of those. Is it possible that the EGTs got a little high and you suffered a meltdown? I have been wondering that from the start. The only way I know to find out for sure is to pull the head. Seems the bottom end is in good shape so I would be looking at the upper end.

What are EGTs? Heck never got the truck over 80 keep the setting on the box at 2 on each setting. How could the ???s got high? Just wondering!

any time you choose to bomb your motor you should be running a pyro, boost, and fuel pressure gauges.
