That 1693 means there's another code in there somewhere, and the Dodge scanner is the only one that can find it.

so that means go to dealership? and i suppose they'll charge a boat load just to scan it?

Sadly, yes.

At least 1/2 hour shop time, even though it only takes 5 minutes tops.

Befor this happened last i was replacing my rear end with a locker and new speed sensor and we scanned it and i had th map sensor code and the 1693. I run with the comp plugged to the map and the map unpluged so i think thats giving me the 1693. Other that the map and a low alternator voltage i have no other codes. Alternator thing is fixed so i get the map sensor code and the 1693. But right now they are gone right now. The truck runs great and im happy.

I thought you could turn the key on and off three times on the 02 and it will read out the codes in the odometer. I have a small after market scanner, only cost about $200, and have only had one problem reading codes. That was on an 05 jeep liberty diesel. And only once could I not clear codes and that was a P0299. Those are real stubborn. I think you could try to read it first by turning the key to ign on, not start and then off again, 3 times. See if it doesn't pop up for you. Last resort is to go to the Stea---.

Here is what I came up with.
1683 Speed control servo Power control circuit
1687 A/T F1 Signal B input
0237 Turbo Charger Boost sensor low
1693 Companion code in ECM
I am suspicious of low voltage in your batteries. This seems to be the problem of the month right now. Especially in cold climate areas. I am throwing wierd codes like APPS voltage too low, Map sensor out of range and Detecting now temp change when cycling grid heater. I load tested my batteries and found one quite weak.
When it's cold, the grid heater stays on longer and then you draw lots more current to start the engine than when it is warm. This will drop the voltage across the board and lots of sensors will read low to the computer. When I see lots of unrelated codes all of a sudden, I tend to check batteries first. It doesn't cost anything and can easily be the cause. My 2 cents. Good Luck.
P.S. Chances are these are all the codes. You can also disconnect the batteries over night and it should clear the codes. Load test the bat's while you have them isolated and see if one or both are weak.
