Lately, when I'm sitting there idling, my engine sounds like a horse after it has been riden hard and blows out it nostrils and mouth. It sounds to me like a horse blowing air and making their lips flutter. ALmost like making a fart sound with you lips.

Tonight after towing my boat , at the house the engine acted like it tried to cut off a couple of times. It's steady getting worse.

It's an 04.5 HO 5.9 cummings. Any suggestions?

I came home from towing our tavel trailer from Georgia(6 hours trip) and I put a quart of injector cleaner in it to see if that would help but apparently it didn't.

First thought is to find out who stole your Cummins and replaced it with a Cummings diesel. They are worse than a 6.4 Furd.

Is your oil level increasing, or do you smell diesel in the oil? First guess out of the box is you have one or more Injectors going.
