Electrical problem
I can tell you what the problem is.......its a Dodge!! As much as we all love the good ol cummins engines'...we have to admit that the dodge carcass, and electronics in specifically are somewhat primitive and unreliable.
I had a 1993 Dodge that at any given time during the summer, usually 1-3 times per summer the A/C blower would not work and the windows would not roll down......usually would correct itself within 1 minute to 2 days of use.
I bought a 2005 Dodge 3500 4X4 w/ cummins last week. As of this morning it had 1800 miles on it. I reached into the cab, pressed the clutch down with my hand and started the engine, flipped the A/c to MAX and walked off back to feeding horses and moving round bales. Came back about 30 minutes later expecting to escape the Texas heat by jumping in the cool truck cab...WRONG......it must have been 137 degrees inside the cab......the fan was blowing wide open and it was really, really hot air, I immediately hit the window switch to roll down the window...nothing.........windows won't roll down...A/c compressor won't work, ABS and parking brakes warning lights are on...............I drive the truck approximately 75 feet, with the door open, to the nearest shade tree to work on it.......shut the engine off for about 10 seconds and started it back up.....everything worked fine and did for the rest of the day..................
so you see Dodge has had this problem in 2 different formats for 12 years.......

I spent what time I could chasing down wires without any success. Did go get a book and tried to see where the problem could be. Gotta spend today getting the house ready for Katrina. Good luck and prayers to all that live in her path. Will get on it again next week. Using wife's truck for now.

Hey, pull the driver side kick panel off (the trim panel to the left of where the driver's feet are), there should be one or several wires grounded in that area. Check that those grounds are nice and tight. This isn't a battery or charging system "gremlin" type of problem if the window doesn't work. There will be something quite obvious here.
Check the back of the fuse panel for burnt wiring.
Take the shrouding off the steering column, unplug the ignition switch, check the connector for overheating, or a broken wire. If the blower is involved, this is a likely area for problems.

you might try driving it through the pasture at faster than normal speeds, this should do the trick and get the windows and the A/c working again. Try to find some failry rough spots and drive through them around 45-60mph, this ought to fix your problem.............keep us posted and let me know if this does the trick...........

For those that were wondering, finally got an ign switch and put it in and it all works now. Seems there was a recall on the switches but somehow mine is not covered, at least according to the dealer. Says the switch burns up because of the constant use of the fan on the a/c-heater. They have a relay that they install to correct the problem but I couldn't get one of them either. May write to Dodge about the whole thing but right now it all works.
Thanks again to all that helped.
