electrical help needed

my power mirrors are not working, stereo and dome lights as well. I have checked the fuses, all are good. I cant seem to find out anything in the manual. can some one help me? I have to be missing something. is there another fuse or something somewhere else? I cant even find a fuse location for the mirrors or dome light.

Check fuse 3 (40 amp) under the hood in the distribution box.

As far as I can tell the fuse for the mirrors and dome lights is fuse 17 15 amp.

Keep in mind my manual is for the 96 model year.

If I remember correctly you should be able to test them with a test light which is usually better than a meter in this case.

Alot of times the fuses if there just tired or have been loaded on a regular basis will not blow and leave a visible black spot. For this a test light is a great thing to test them and you dont even have to remove them.

From what I can see your problems are not from just ONE fuse inside the cab so its safe to say its either the feed for those fuses in the panel which could be a bad fuse under the hood or a bad wire feeding to the panel.

A meter will do if you dont have a test light.

Check the IOD fuse. Should be #12 on the side of your dash. Hard to access/check because it has one of those black holder gizmos, gotta slide it out then unclip to get at the fuse. HTH

got it! thanks to mrclean. it was the #12 I.O.D. fuse that is a P.I.T.A. to access. I might not of tried to get the black holder off if mrclean didn't suggest it.
