I got my Autometers installed yesterday and ran in to a problem. Everthing went smooth until installing the Pyro probe. My dad wanted to help and hes got more experience drilling/tapping so I let him do it. Well I told him were I wanted the probe bsed on what I've seen here and well we got into a discussion about it and he convinced me to place it in the center of the manifold. Well we drilled a pilot hole, Drill bit broke. Extracted broken bit got it all (we thought). Drilled hole, tapped, probe wont go all the way down due to center vane. It's getting late, plugged hole. Started truck, rattling sound in turbo. Removed turbo found very small piece of drill bit. Inspected, turbo ok no damage, cool! Re-assembled everything fine. My question is, now where/how to install probe into manifold, and what to do about this extra hole in the manifold? Thanks Tye

down the left column, click on installation instructions
Select pyrometer installation
Drawing with dimensions on that page. Be careful of getting chips in the manifold.

Here is a thread with directions for the install. All you can do with your 1st attempt is to plug or weld up the hole. GOOD LUCK! Or go to ISSPRO for more info!

The drill bit may have damaged the turbine wheel that you cannot see, but that is a guess on my part.
I would retap the bad hole with pipe treads and install a cast pipe thread plug.
Hopefully, it will seal.
