egt gauge
egt gauge
Well its been along time since last post, bought a house
, gettin married (as some would say)
, but what brings me here is my egt gauge stopped working about 4 months ago
. Now since its getting cold i figured it would be a good time to get numb fingers working on it
. N E ways, trying to figure out how to go about trouble shooting it. Its a auto meter phantom ll, installed it about a year in half ago on my 05. Put on about 7000 miles since then. I have 12 volts+ and a good ground testing it at the gauge with a multi meter. Is there a way to test the probe? Kinda worried about trying to take the probe out, looks pretty rusted it. Is it the actual gauge or is it the probe? what do you think?

i've been using the same guage since 2001 with no problems.... it's a dipricol EGT and boost set. no power to make the guage work, so i guess you get what you pay for
Here is an aviation link about testing a K type thermocouple, I think the K Type is what came with my Autometer gauge. Hope it helps. http://www.ultralightnews.ca/westach...leshooting.htm
