Disconnect Aux-Trany Cooler

Is there a quick and dirty way to either disconnect the aux-transmission cooler (the one under the driver's side) quickly? Either that, or just stop it from opening up? It started leaking, and now I can tell very easily every time it opens up, as I suddenly loose power as it starts leaking everywhere. I plan on pulling it out completely when I get home, just need to get there first.

Cut the lines and bypass it with a hose an a pair of clamps. But don't you need that thing? Wht would you want to eliminate it?
