Dirty fuel or pump failure

Update:
Yesterday afternoon the truck was slow starting. Had to pump the accelerator to get it to fire of and was running rough for a few secounds then ran fine the rest of he day and started easy. This morning it did the same thing.

I've found what looks like brass and black plastic shavings in every pre-filter I've cleaned for the first time. Always figured it was manufacturing debris.
After the first cleaning on my own rigs the screens have been spotless so quit cleaning them, figure if the screen does clog my fuel pressure gauge will give advance warning.
Sounds like you're sucking air somewhere with the hard starting.
