Difference in 24v head???

So I have to do the head on my truck. The engine is ISB275 of a 1997 build. (yep know all about the 98.5 year change, but this is commercial) I have a head here with 16k on it but have no idea what it actually is other than commercial 24v. Is there an id, or is there even a difference in them? I know it will all bolt up as stock.

I have to find this info before I can put it together.

Did you finally determine that the problem was in the head?

Well they are both the early block. The head may have been modded along the way but the bolt up is the same. This one is from a tractor engine, I just found out. The Cummins mechanic is aware of the deals that I got one of in the engine that cracked. He said the heads should be the same, any of them will interchange.

Current status:

Original injectors checked out fine, a different build though, pop off at 280 instead of 320, but all the same and spray pattern is good. How about that the replacements that I purchased from Scotty are all poor or bad. Most drip. No reflection on Scotty just saying which ones they are. They have about 150k on them.

Cut oil filter apart, no sparkles, so no cylinder damage, no bearing damage. The filter is one tough cookie. Really built.

So there are two choices, bad valve or bad vp44. Did you ever hear of a vp44 going bad on one cylinder, cummins could not answer that, will check the codes.

Intake off the engine, no noise in the intake. No noise in the exhaust straight pipe.

Right now I have no idea, still checking. No codes the head comes off. All I know is that something is wrong

Hey, its a good day, just found out that the engine does not have to come out, bottom must be good, no blowby, no chips in the filter. Hey maybe I can run a few more loads for the next engine
