One more on VP44...

Has anyone heard of a VP44 messing up on one cylinder? I have not but I hate to pull the head if the VP is the culpret.

The VP44 can go goofy on one cylinder. if you have the proper scan tool, you can do a cylinder cutout test to see which is not working properly. I have done this test on my 01 when I suspected something was amiss.

Snap-On MODIS will do this test, as will Insite.

They did this at the dealer for me when I was complaining of high trans temps. It is amazing what you can get the tech's to do on a road trip. This was before the 36,000 mile warranty was up, and they went through stuff I never even asked them to do.
