Death Wobble strikes again
Death Wobble strikes again
Was driving home from the shop and all of a sudden at 65mph and a slight bump, the truck goes into the most violent DW ever (so it was my first one and it was bad) any how got her off the highway and then started back out and everything was fine....till I hit a bump at an overpass then said DW starts again, pulled off and started back up, everything was fine again. I just redid most of my front end, wheel bearings-hubs, ball joints were ok, U-Joints, trac-bar. The shocks are really old, but could this be the sole culprit, it also needs to be aligned really badly since my front end rebuild, could this also be the problem.....help... I am about fed up with this truck, if anyone is lookin for one the truck in my sig may be for sale real soon. I just sunk a bunch of money in the motor and front end, and now this, I love the motor, hate Dodge!!!
Thanks
Tom

I had an old Ford 3/4 ton once, 89 i think and it did that death wobble as you called it. Yea, it will scare the dickens out of you. I got rid of it. never did know what caused it. It was a 2 wd auto.

I have one other thing for you to look for .
After swapping out the stabilzer. take a close look at the fixed end of the track bar, not the bushing, the actual hole slotted into the steel.
Mine (after many a DW) had ovaled out bad. New bar, still wasnt better.
Ended up welding 1/4" plate front and back and drilling in new holes. Now the front end is tighter than new.
Might not be your problem , but food for thought

I had just replaced the track bar, I have never had this problem before, could it be that somehow I got the wrong size (they made two for the 94's) would that cause it to wobble like this? Is there anyway I can check the stabelizer bar?? I got a guy looking at maybe buyin this truck and I want to fix it up right for him!! Thanks guys

. I wouldn't have guessed that it could make that big of difference.
