Dead Battery, Gremlins in the Electric!

My Dad's best friend has a Brand new 05' Dodge 2500 with a blade. It is a Hemi not a diesel though. We have unhooked the lighting circut from the blade and plugged the factory wiring back in. Now for the problems...The headlights come on at will even with the truck off and keys out. Also I pulled the battery cable off and when I hook it back up I hear the A/C clutch energize and it stays powered even though I have the truck off. Also, thetruck will run for 3 to 4 seconds after the key has beenturned off. He had a Dead battery this morning again Any help appreciated, Thanks

Sounds to me like the ignition switch is staying on with the key out. Sorry but I don't know exactly how to check or test this theory. Try turing on an accessory like the radio before turing the ign. sw. off. If the radio stays on after turning the ing. sw. off then trying smacking the steering column to see if the radio will turn off.
