dead battery and codes
Left my key on for about 24 hours a couple of days ago and the battery went dead. Put the charger on it on 10 amps for about 18 hours then disconected it and plugged in the heater. When I went out tonight to start it up there was a check engine light on but it drove normaly all the way to work. I am clearing the codes now but I was wondering if anyone has any idea what in the world happened???

Your check engine light is most likely the result of the batteries going dead and will go away after "X" number of successful engine cycles. That X is usually 3 for most problems but I think it can vary. Also, a "successful engine cycle" can vary but for the most part it is defined as the engine going from cold up to operating temperature.
Do you know what the codes are? If you can't get them out yourself which I'm not sure if you can on a 99 then go to Autozone and have them pull them for free.

I got the codes to clear but I will have it scanned anyway. I don't know if it was just the starts or that I pulled the fuses to the ECM and PCM for an hour. Thanks for the help, if I had known about that code clearing I would have just left it alone and run it, OH well
