danger high EGTS on XMAS eve

All of a sudden I noticed my EGTS out the roof, not pulling normal driving 60-70 mph range 1200-1400 egts back off throttle to get to 1000-1200. Even at a red light not getting below 1000 !!!! Engine temp gauge good, visual good
any ideas ?????????????????????????????????????[

my guess is, if you cant get below a 1000 stopped and idling i'm guessing, your probe or your gauge is bad, check all the grounds, clean them, blah blah, you know the works. hopefully that will fix it for ya, i just couldn't see an engine actually reaching 1000 degree's stopped. so thats why i would say check grounds and stuff. and make sure the probe wires arnt worn somewhere and rubbing metal contact.

you may want to also consider that maybe a injector or more are stuck wide open. EGT's only raise because of additional fuel added. That being so it is possible a few injectors or simple an injector may be stuck wide open. If it were my engine I'd go with caution and assume the injector is a problem before dismissing it as a bad egp temp guage. After all you bough the egt guage to detect problems, and obviously you found one

well if its a stuck injector, check your fluids and see if any diesel is laying in your oil, but i think with a stuck injector it would run like crap, is it running fine or not?

sorry guys had to do Christmas....
as for it running bad I can say, once about a week or so ago on cold start up it puffed several puffs of white/maybe blueish smoke and ran rough for a couple of minutes. And not to sound maybe like a hypocondriac right now but at hard or full throttle it does sound different almost like a gasser with a miss but I've have taken the muffler off and thought maybe that was the straight pipe sound.
how could I check for a stuck or bad injector or should I "de-smarty" it to stock and take to dealer, truck is 07 with 15k on it. Have any of you had a warranty issue denied similar to this or what.

A friend of mine has an 07 that had the same problem.. He detuned it and took it back to the dealer to find out that there is a problem.. with the stock injectors..
They told him that he was the 3 truck that week with the problem. So my recommendation is that if your still under warranty to do the same thing
