Crankshaft Position Sensor

I am getting ready to change this sensor in the morning but first a couple of questions...

1. My CEL stays on and RPM gauge seldom works. AutoZone scanned the truck and said the sensor is bad.......correct????

2. I (believe) have located this sensor but am not sure how to replace it. Anyone tackled this problem? How difficult was it and what tools are needed?

Thanks in advance for the help and wish me luck!!!!!!

The sensor is now in and it was not bad at all!!! Just a little who's idea was it to put it right behind the starter anyway . Well all seems well but the CEL is still on. What is the best way to turn it off? Not sure but AutoZone said they are not "allowed" to turn it off even after they read my codes and told me the problem and I bought the sensor from them!!!!!!

The check engine light will clear itself, if the problems are gone, after three starts of a cold engine where it is allowed to get all the way to operating temperature. There will still be some companion codes hanging around that a good scanner will read, but they will eventually go away from memory once the events no longer occur.
