Conflict between remote start and cool down timer?

Normally I have no problems with either but here recently it has been weird. I will set the brake, which is required to use the timer, but I wont push the button on the timer. Turn the truck off and then the light on the timer will come on even though I have not engaged it. When the timer light comes on, the dash lights will flash as if I have pushed the button on my remote starter. The doors will automatically lock themselves and the truck will start. All of this happens without me pushing any buttons. I have no idea why this is happening but would like some help. Thanks.

Both the timer and the remote start units share a common link to the power from the starter solenoid where it triggers the fuel shutoff solenoid. My first assessment is that your starter solenoid contacts have become corroded to the point that they are leaking enough power that the remote starter is cycling. If those contacts are good, then check the relays on the firewall for one that is hanging and maintaining contact. Either way, you are getting power feedback from one of those sources.

I will check the relays because the contacts are less than four months old. Thanks for the input.

It could be just like any computer, it needs to be rebooted.
Try disconnecting all power to the remote module.

Check you switch on the e-brake that supplies the ground to the cool-down timer and remote start. Clean the contacts. I have had dirty contacts on this switch set the cool-down timer on just by applying the e-brake.

Sometimes the e-brake will engage the timer, but it will happen immediately. This happens slowly, only turns on after the truck is off and I am getting out. Then the doors lock, timer light comes on, gauge bezel lights come on like when the remote start is engaged, and I didnt initiate any of it. I will check the grounds and then disconnect the batteries and let the truck sit over night and see what happens. But like I said, this is not something that happens all the time so I see no trends.
