Code 1740
Code 1740
Well today I went to Pike's Peak (14,110ft above sea level). It was a cool 65 degrees F at the top while at the bottom was 99 degrees.
The drive is about 40 mlies round trip. Drove it slowly up at around 15MPH and than when I noticed my truck was running unuassually hot around 210 to 215 dregrees F (it normally stays around 190 degrees). When I got to the top I let it idle to cool off for about 20min. On my way home the check engine light came on with code 1740.
Also, when my truck sits at idle it also ran higher oil pressures than usual, it ran 42 exactly at idle. It should of been 35 to 40 at idle after running for several hours at highway speeds.
CAn anyone please tell me what it means and if I can still run my truck?
My truck is a 2006 CTD automatic Quad Cab 9000 miles

P1740-Rationality error detected in the torque converter clutch solenoid or overdrive solenoid systems.
If it's driving ok, it might just have decided it was too hot.
You can try Autozone to see if they can clear the code and see if it returns, or just take it to the dealer if it's still under warranty.
