code 1693....

code 1693....

This morning when i went to start my truck up there on the outside temp gauge it said ccd...can anyone tell me what that means??

also..the next time i went to start it i tryed the key on/off 3 times and it said P 1693 on the odometer....what does this mean??? thanks..-matt

1. the ccd means you compass needs to be calabrated. Drive a 360 degree circle.

2. The 1963 is in the ECM and means there is another code. If you cant pull it up with the on-off-on-offon key trick it will take a scanner to read.

thanks for the quick reply...i will go try the on/off thing again...

any idea on what it could be with the ecm?? sumthin serious? hopefully not?? ill try that trick and check back..

I plugged in my trusty Superchips scanner i got for free cause its VIN locked....it gave me P0236..???

In that they were saying sumthing about maybe from unpluggin the map sensor..which mine has been unplugged for the last week or so..untill a couple days ago i plugged it back it...the truck doesnt seem to run any differntly than it has been...so is it ok to try and just clear and code and ignore it??

I think you will be OK if you clear the code. If the truck runs OK and no Check Engiine Lite you should be good to go. If there is still a problem the code will come right back.
